Although Indian users have begun to prefer local smartphone manufacturers in the past months, Chinese smartphone sales continue to rise. The reason is that Indian customers still trust Chinese giant manufacturers. As proof, local market data shows that the sales of Chinese smartphones in India increased by 1.7 million units over the same period last year.
The market analysis company International Data Corporation (IDC) found that the Indian smartphone market determined a huge year-over-year (YoY) growth in October this year. This is a 42% increase compared to the same period last year. The research is based on online and offline sales records. Thus, the Chinese smartphone sales were about 21 million units, which is a great ratio for this term. IDC also added that this information benefited from the multiple online shopping festivals in the third quarter of this year and the cumulative demand.
