The Xiaomi Mi 11 adopts a new rear camera design. This long-waited smartphone finally came yesterday. And according to the statement of Wei Xu in Weibo, Design Director of Xiaomi Industrial Design Department, they selected this design arrangement from more than 100 options.
Wei Xu also revealed that from Mi 9 to Mi 10, the angel ring is a classic element of the Mi series. In this sense, the Mi 11 naturally continues this style. The rear camera design takes the angel ring as the visual center. Then, it superimpose the runway circle and the rounded rectangle of the outer circle in order to form the inner rhythm between the geometric shapes. The combination is very orderly. The height of the protrusion, brought by the 100-million-pixel super-large module, looks quite acceptable.
In addition, Wei Xu said that in order to achieve the concentricity of the angel ring and the rounded rectangle, Xiaomi also decided to spend an extra 20 million yuan ($3.06 million) to customize a camera module with cut corners.
