Today, Xiaomi officially issued a document revealing the core performance of the Xiaomi Mi 11 for the first time. Xiaomi said that as the beginning of Xiaomi’s new decade, the performance will naturally not disappoint. The world’s first Android strongest core-Snapdragon 888 is fully improved. Compared with the previous generation it has the strongest super core, the largest GPU performance upgrade in history. It also supports the strongest AI computing power on the surface.
At present, most of the Android flagship platforms on the market still use the same Cortex-A77 as the Snapdragon 865 as the “large core” and “super large core”. In fact, as early as May, Arm had released a new performance to replace Cortex-A77. The core Cortex-A78 and the new design and core Cortex-X1 focused on improving peak performance. The latter is also the real “super core” of Arm.
In addition to the four custom A55 1.8GHz small cores for “normal operation”, Snapdragon 888 also has a 2.84GHz ultra-large core. It is based on X1 deep customization and three 2.42GHz large cores based on A78 deep customization. Lei Jun’s running score showed that in the GeekBench 5 running score, the Snapdragon 888’s single-core CPU score was 1135. T he multi-core score was 3818. Both scores won the top of the Android platform, leading Kirin 9000 by 13.2% and 4.9%.
Adreno 660 GPU
Qualcomm’s Adreno series GPUs can be regarded as the “golden signature” of graphics processors for mobile platforms. The Snapdragon 888 comes with a new generation GPU, which is called the Adreno 660. Compared with the Adreno 650 used in the previous generation, its performance has increased by 35%. With the third-generation Snapdragon Elite Gaming technology, the Adreno 660 has the largest game performance improvement in the history of Snapdragon. According to the number of test frames of GFXBench 5.0, Snapdragon 888 is clearly ahead of other Android models in both old and new scenes.
In addition to the improvement in computing performance, the Adreno 660 also provides stronger and more comprehensive peripheral support for the Xiaomi Mi 11. For example, there are two new features: Variable resolution rendering (Variable Rate Shading) and Qualcomm Game Quick Touch. Variable resolution rendering can help reduce GPU workload while significantly enhancing game performance.
