Although the Redmi K40 series will be released after the Spring Festival (February 12), a Weibo blogger has announced some information about the Redmi K40 series in advance. The most important point is the selling price, starting at 2999 Yuan ($463).

Lu Weibing also posted that in 2021, Redmi will not be afraid of any opponents. Moreover, it will carry out the price-performance ratio of flagship phones to the end.

On January 13, Redmi product director Wang Teng announced that the series will include Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro. Both of them will use a hole-punch screen solution and a single-hole design.
As posted before, the previous generation of the Redmi K30 5G and the Redmi K30 Pro uses dual hole-drilling and pop-up full-screen, respectively. Pop-up full-screen is relatively rare in 2020 5G flagships.
The Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro will also support a new generation of luminescent materials. In terms of specifications, the Redmi K40 series will sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship processor. On the other hand, there are several opinions that only Redmi K40 Pro will use the Snapdragon 888. Besides, the standard version will likely support MediaTek’s flagship processor Dimensity 1200.
