Recently, we started getting more and more news about folding screen smartphone products. Not long ago, we learned that a large wave of folding screen phones will come in the second half of this year, including companies such as VIVO, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Google.
According to LetsGoDigital, at the end of August 2020, VIVO Mobile Communications applied to CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration) for a patent for the appearance of a folding screen smartphone.
From the patent drawing, we can see that the appearance of the phone is similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2-with a ‘flip’ form factor. The screen extends from the bottom to the back of the phone.
It is worth mentioning that with this design, VIVO does not need to punch a front lens on the front of the screen to achieve a true full screen, and about 1/3 of the back side is composed of the screen.
In terms of photography, this folding screen phone adopts a rear matrix five-camera solution. According to LetsGoDigital, one of the lenses is a periscope zoom lens, and on the right side of the lens module is an elongated flash. On the whole, the machine has a very high degree of recognition.
It is worth noting that from the pictures of the smartphone, the whole machine only has a rectangular button placed on the top of the phone. It may be a power button.
In addition, it seems VIVO cancels the SIM card slot and volume buttons. And it should adopt eSIM and touch to adjust the volume design.
The patent content mainly relates to appearance. So the system parameters of the device, camera and other information are currently unknown.
