The annual Double 11 Festival has come to the end. Xiaomi has achieved good results in this shopping carnival. The cumulative total sales of new retail channels in China exceeded 14.3 billion yuan ($2.16 billion). After the end of 11.11, Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of the Redmi brand, revealed that the next battle is being prepared. The “battle” mentioned by Lu Weibing should be Redmi’s new product launch event. Judging from the information currently disclosed, the protagonist of the new product launch event is the Redmi Note 9 series. In addition, it has already obtained network access permission.
On the other hand, it is worth noting that Lu Weibing has recently used a mysterious Xiaomi smartphone to make a Weibo post. It may be the upcoming Redmi Note 9 series.
According to the details shown on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, it includes the Redmi Note 9 standard and high-end editions. The latter may be named the Redmi Note 9 Pro. Earlier, a blogger exposed the detailed configuration of the Redmi Note 9 standard version and high-end version.
Features and prices
The standard version uses a hole-punch LCD screen. The selfie camera hole is in the upper left corner. The rear main camera has a 48 MP resolution. And the high-end version uses a centered-hole LCD screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The rear main camera is up to 100 MP. It is also worth mentioning that this smartphone is Redmi’s first smartphone that uses 100 MP. The sensor model is Samsung HM2.
In addition, the high-end version of the Redmi Note 9 series will debut the Snapdragon 750G chip in the Chinese market. And the standard version will use the MediaTek Dimensity 800U chip.
In terms of prices, according to a post on Weibo, the standard version of the Redmi Note 9 5G will cost about 1000 yuan ($151). And a higher version with a 108MP camera sensor will be around 1500 yuan ($227). This pricing corroborates with an internal document leak that earlier said that Xiaomi will launch a 999 yuan 5G device towards the end of 2020.
