Huawei’s Bruce Lee Ignores Rumors About Mate 40 Pro+ Discontinuation

As previously posted, Huawei Mate 40 series smartphones have been out of stock since October 2020, when they were launched. On top of that, the Mate 40 RS has changed the pre-sale method to the lottery mode and random selection. Thus, there are several legitimate opinions that the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ will soon be unavailable at all.

On the other hand, Bruce Lee, the vice president of Huawei’s consumer business first smartphone line, inspired netizens in the fan. He mentioned, “Don’t believe the rumors, it’s too early to stop production.”

Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ sports a Kirin 9000 chip and eight-core design. The multi-core design includes a 3.13GHz A77 core, three 2.54GHz A77 cores, and four 2.04GHz A55 small cores. Besides, it supports a 24-core Mali-G78 GPU, using a 6.76-inch 88 Ultra-curve + dual-hole type full screen with a 90Hz high refresh rate. Moreover, it features a 12GB+256GB memory combination, which makes the smartphone competitive among its opponents.

The Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ also supports 66W wired fast charging, 50W wireless super-fast charging, and reverse wireless charging. In terms of cameras, it uses a round Leica five-shot camera, including a 50MP main camera, a 20MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a ToF lens, an 8MP 10X periscope, and a 12MP telephoto camera, which can achieve 17x optical zoom.
