Huawei Mate 20 X (5G) Doesn’t Consider Profit

On July 26, Huawei held a media communication meeting at Putian Base in Shenzhen and launched the first commercial 5G smartphone Mate 20 X (5G), priced at 6,199 yuan. After the communication meeting, He Gang, president of Huawei’s terminal mobile phone product line, accepted interview to answer the current 5G related issues.

The Huawei Mate 20 X (5G) is based on the Mate 20 X released in the second half of last year. Huawei chose its own phone as the basis for the first 5G commercial smartphone. For this, Huawei has its own considerations. He Gang said that the Mate 20 X is a large-screen product that helps optimize the 5G antenna. Because of its larger internal space, it is better to design the position of the antenna and the mounting baseband.

We can see that even with such a large-screen smartphone, the battery capacity of the Mate 20 X (5G) is still reduced from 5000mAh to 4200mAh. This shows that the 5G smartphone has higher requirements for internal space.

The second point, He Gang believes that Mate 20 X is among the best in terms of the cooling capacity among Huawei smartphones. The heat of 5G phones is much higher than that of 4G devices. So cooling is crucial for a 5G smartphone. The Mate 20 X uses a graphene and liquid cooling mode, which has certain advantages.

In addition, He Gang believes that the biggest advantage of the Huawei Mate 20 X (5G) is the 5G dual-mode dual card support. He explained that Huawei hopes that users can enjoy various network experience in different environments. When the operator’s 5G network is not good, the phone can smartly switch to 4G.

Pricing is another point of view for the Mate 20 X (5G). The price of 6199 yuan is far from the price of the initial price of nearly 10,000 yuan. In this regard, He Gang explained that Huawei’s pricing should consider the expectations of consumers, but also consider business appeals.

‘The first product does not consider profit, but allows more consumers to accept it quickly,’ He Gang said.
