On July 29, a new smartphone made by Xiaomi appeared on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It has a model name of M1908F1XE and is considered to be the first Xiaomi 5G handset.
Due to various restrictions such as cost and mobile platform, currently, only flagship handsets support 5G. Therefore, it is determined that the new Xiaomi 5G phone, which has just entered the network, is the flagship product. Many think this is the much-talked Xiaomi Mi MIX 4. But at the moment, we have no certain information and we can’t confirm this.
Prior to this, Xiaomi founder, Xiaomi Group Chairman and CEO Lei Jun revealed that Xiaomi will launch a 5G new machine in the second half of the year. So the M1908F1XE does not rule out the possibility of MIX series.
In addition, Xiaomi product director Wang Teng revealed that the charging of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is faster than that of the Xiaomi Mi 9. Considering the latter’s first 20W wireless flash charging, it is estimated that the wireless charging power of the Mi MIX 4 should exceed 20W.
It is worth noting that Qualcomm’s latest-generation flagship platform, the Snapdragon 855 Plus has been already commercialized. The first model is the ASUS ROG Gaming Phone 2. So it is highly probable that the Xiaomi 5G new machine will be equipped with the Snapdragon 855 Plus as well. The platform is based on the 7nm process. The CPU clock speed is increased to 2.96GHz (the Snapdragon 855 CPU clocked at 2.84GHz), and it provides a quite powerful performance.
All in all, the first Xiaomi 5G smartphone is worth looking forward to.
