On October 12, Xiaomi officially announced the Xiaomi UWB technology through its Weibo channel. According to Xiaomi’s official introduction, it is a new generation of connection technology that can accurately sense the spatial location of smart devices, just like ‘indoor GPS’. The ultra-high-precision positioning capability allows the smartphone to be pointed at the smart device. So you can call out a control card. Say, you can even directly project the TV with no extra steps, just with one finger control.
Xiaomi has used its self-developed antenna arrangement and algorithm to modify the Xiaomi Mi 10 series smartphones and a series of smart devices to achieve centimeter-level positioning and ±3° angle measurement accuracy. Also, it introduced ‘one-finger control’ and two innovative functions of ‘one finger delivery’.
The ‘one-finger control’ is: pick up the phone, point it at the smart device, and the control interface will automatically pop up. Simply put, you can turn on the TV, change the color of a desk lamp, select songs and view lyrics. Users will do everything with one finger.
The ‘One-finger delivery’ refers to delivery in any interface of the smartphone, pointing at the smart device to perform gesture operations. The current screen can be automatically delivered to the smart device such as the Xiaomi Mi TV, touchscreen speakers, and Xiaomi notebook.
According to Xiaomi’s official introduction, the Xiaomi UWB technology is only the tip of the iceberg of this technology. Soon, the Xiaomi devices can omit even the ‘pointing’ to achieve a senseless linkage. When getting close to the car door, the smartphone in your pocket will automatically unlock the door for you; when getting close to the gate, the smartphone will automatically swipe your card to pass smoothly. Xiaomi will realize all this one after another with the landing of Xiaomi UWB technology.
