TrendForce said that benefiting from the sharp increase in TV demand in North America by 20% and the delay in the shipment schedule of TV brand manufacturers in the first half of the year due to the epidemic, the peak season effect in the third quarter was even more significant. The shipments hit a record high of 62.05 million units in the single season. On record, the quarterly increase was as high as 38.8% and the annual increase was 12.9%.
Samsung ranked first with 14.2 million units, a year-on-year increase of 36.4%; TCL shipped 7.33 million units, ranking third, with a year-on-year increase of 52.7%; Xiaomi shipped 3.38 million units, a year-on-year increase of 22.9 %.
As for Xiaomi, its shipments and sales in 2019 rank first in China. In 2019 alone, the Chinese manufacturer shipped 10.46 million units. This figure ensured that it remains the most popular TV brand in China.
Xiaomi TV stated that the data has been confirmed by AVC and Zhongyikang. According to data from Zhongyikang, Xiaomi TV’s annual sales share was 19.25%. Aowei Cloud Network data shows that Xiaomi TV has the largest sales volume in the five large-size segments (32 inches, 43 inches, 50 inches, 65 inches, and 70 inches). Among them, 70-inch online sales accounted for 41%, while the 65-inch online sales account for 33%.
So we knew that Xiaomi TV products were quite popular in China and India. But we never thought that it can become a globally popular brand. On the other hand, these two markets are enough to get so much sales and to rank the top five.
