A few days ago, Zhao Ming, the president of Honor, took a photo of his hand wearing the Honor bracelet and published the photo on Weibo. He said that he had first experienced the new blood oxygenation test function of the upcoming Honor Band 5. This is a clear hint that the fifth generation of the Honor smartband will be launched in the near future, and it will come with a blood oxygen detection.
This afternoon, another Honor executive gave a detailed introduction to this new function through his Weibo channel.
The blood oxygen test carried by the Honor Band 5 is called blood oxygen saturation detection. Oxygen saturation is not only an important physiological parameter of the respiratory cycle, but also an important indicator of the normal functioning of the human body. If the blood oxygen level is low, it is easy to cause fatigue, difficulty, lack of energy, memory loss, etc. If the blood oxygen content is insufficient for a long time, it will also cause damage to the brain, heart, and other organs.
Xiong Junmin also said that snoring people, excessive mental workers, old people, and others need to measure blood oxygen saturation periodically.
The Honor Band 5 optimizes the hardware optical path and depth through an algorithm and a multi-source fusion. Also, it utilizes the characteristics of different absorption rates of specific light by oxygenated hemoglobin and deoxyhemoglobin. At the final stage, through signal extraction, signal enhancement, algorithm training, and abnormal suppression, the band measures blood oxygen saturation.
In addition, the promotional image of the Honor Band 5 also confirmed the design of the product. Compared with the previous generation products, the new product is not much different in appearance. As you can see, it will sport a color screen, a ring button, and a twill strap. Seems this product will bring more updates in performance.
At present, Honor has not announced the release time of the Honor Band 5. But we have heard it will debut on July 23 alongside with the Honor 9X.
