Today, Xiaomi announced on Twitter that it promised to perform the reduction of plastic by 60% used in its packaging from Europe. It is important to mention that Apple has already decreased the amount of plastic on its smartphones. In light of this, the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite will be the first step.

The reduction of plastic use refers only to the retail packaging boxes rather than the internal parts of smartphones. Users will still get all the accessories, including chargers, USB-C cables, and even a transparent protective cover. When Xiaomi launched the Mi 10 Lite (without T) at the beginning of this year, the accessories in the box were as follows.
Xiaomi released the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro on October 15, and the prices start at $488 and $544. They are available in two colors: Cosmic Blue and Lunar Silver, and will start to ship from November 3.
There are several thoughts that in any case, the reduction of plastic is just a marketing gimmick. However, we should keep in mind that when Apple made such reductions, some competitors started to mock it. Now those manufacturers are inclined to apply this approach. Hence, these changes will make Xiaomi smartphones stronger and more efficient.
