Next Year Samsung Will Supply Exynos Chips To Xiaomi, OPPO And Vivo

In the 5G era, smartphone processors are becoming more and more important. Now, most Chinese manufacturers rely on Qualcomm and MediaTek’s 5G processors. But this situation will soon change. It is reported that Samsung’s Exynos chips will also enter Xiaomi next year.

Since last year, Vivo has been first company to cooperate with Samsung to launch the custom 5G processor.  The first product was the Exynso 980.

The next-gen Exynos 1080 processor will be announced soon. It is based on a 5nm process and uses four Cortex-A78 large cores and four Cortex-A55 small cores. The GPU is Mali-G78. This is the world’s first 5nm A78 flagship chip.

In terms of performance, the current score of AnTuTu is 693600. CPU score is 181099, GPU score is 297676, MEM score is 115169, and UX score is 99656. The performance of the Exynos 1080 has surpassed the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865 Plus. It is also slightly lower than the Kirin 9000. The overall performance is very powerful.

According to the latest news, Samsung’s LSI division plans to supply Exynos processors to companies such as Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo in 2021. The report did not give specific models, but Exynos 1080 or even higher-end Exynos 2100 should be possible. In next year’s 5G processor market, Qualcomm and MediaTek will feel a greater pressure.
