Recently, IDC released the annual wearable device report for the fourth quarter of 2019. The report shows that in the fourth quarter of 2019, the shipment volume of Huami’s own brand AMAZFIT watches in India, Indonesia and Spain all occupied the first place in the adult watch market.
At present, India has a population of more than 1.3 billion, second only to China in the world. Indonesia has a population of more than 260 million, ranking fourth in the world (behind China, India, and the United States). With leading positions in these two populous emerging markets, Huami AMAZFIT watches have undoubtedly opened new doors for growth.
In the fourth quarter of 2019, the overall shipment of AMAZFIT watches exceeded 1.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 122.5%, of which the growth rate in Western Europe was as high as 440.1%. In Italy, Huami AMAZFIT also entered the top two in the watch market. In China’s domestic market and Russia, it ranks third in the watch market.
In the United States, Huami AMAZFIT watches are ranked sixth and the most highly ranked Chinese brand. The growth rate of 97.5% year-on-year is also the highest among all manufacturers. In addition to the countries and regions mentioned above, AMAZFIT watches are also growing at a rate of 328.5% in other countries around the world.
For the whole of 2019, AMAZFIT watch shipments exceeded 3.6 million units, an increase of 54% year-on-year, of which, overseas shipments increased 113.4% year-on-year. For the whole year, the shipment volume of Huami AMAZFIT ranked first in the Indian watch market and second in Indonesia. In China, Spain, Italy, Russia and other adult watch markets, shipments have also entered the top three.
During the earnings call on March 13, Huang Wang, founder, chairman and CEO of Huami Technology, also revealed that its independent brand AMAZFIT will account for 51.6% of overseas shipments in 2019 and has now expanded to more than 70 countries.
In 2019, Huami Technology held a number of launch conferences in China, and successively released a variety of wearable devices such as AMAZFIT Smartwatch 2, AMAZFIT Sports Health Watch, AMAZFIT GTR, AMAZFIT Smart Sports Watch 3, AMAZFIT GTS, AMAZFIT X and so on.
In September 2019, at the IFA (International Consumer Electronics Show) held in Berlin, Germany, AMAZFIT GTS and AMAZFIT Stratos 3 were released for overseas markets.
In January 2020, Huami Technology, which participated in CES for the first time, launched a number of new products including the outdoor smartwatch AMAZFIT T-Rex and the basic smart watch AMAZFIT Bip S in Las Vegas.
So far, Huami Technology has seven major series of smartwatch products under AMAZFIT’s own brand, including smart sports watch series, basic smartwatch series, flagship smartwatch series, health watch series, fashion smartwatch series, outdoor smartwatch series and X series.’
In addition to smartwatches and smart bracelets, Huami Technology is also continuously exploring other smart wearable devices. At the CES AMAZFIT global new product launch conference with the theme of ‘Leap over Limits’, in addition to smartwatches, Huami Technology also released a wireless heart rate headset AMAZFIT PowerBuds, smart sleep earbuds AMAZFIT ZenBuds, and smart Home gym AMAZFIT HomeStudio, AMAZFIT AirRun, a home fully-foldable smart treadmill.
