Back in May, Xiaomi launched the XiaoAI Speaker Art in China priced at 349 yuan ($51). The same speaker later debuted as the Mi Smart Speaker powered by Google Assistant in India and Europe. Now, the Chinese tech giant has announced the XiaoAI Speaker Art Battery Edition for 399 yuan ($59). In addition, the purchase of this product in all channels will start on November 1.
The newly launched Xiaomi XiaoAI Speaker Art Battery Edition is identical to the standard variant. The main difference is the presence of a 4,850mAh battery.
The company claims it to offer up to 6.5 hours of music playback on a full charge. Most importantly, users can now take it anywhere as they wish.
Since it is the same speaker with a battery, it features a 2.5-inch 12W full-range speaker with two custom bass boosters. Furthermore, it sports DTS Sound tuning.
Further, the speaker’s body is of metal featuring 10,531 sound holes, whereas its top comes with a 16 million RGB LED strip along with capacitive buttons for play/pause, volume control, and enable/disable the dual far-field microphone. In terms of appearance, the Art battery version of the XiaoAi Speaker uses a new black and gold color design, with a classic body design.
Just like the regular model, you can connect this one in pairs as well for 2.0 stereo sound. Moreover, it also supports LHDC audio format. Last but not least, it is powered by a Texas Instruments TAS5805M chipset and features dual-band WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2. Xiaomi stated that this speaker is “both a smart speaker and a portable Bluetooth speaker.”
The Xiaomi XiaoAI Speaker Art Battery Edition is currently limited to China and will go on sale starting November 1. As Xiaomi is now selling the standard version in global markets, there’s a little chance for the company to bring this variant to other regions.
