5G Smartphones Becoming More and More Popular

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched a new 5G smartphone, the Redmi K30. The price of 1999 yuan ($286) again refreshed the lower limit of 5G smartphone prices. The fact is, we’d have no reason to unless we’ve got a 5G product. The air doesn’t fizz with the feeling of faster download speeds and higher network capacity. This month, there have been released other 5G smartphones such as Vivo X30 and OPPO Reno 3. According to industry estimates, these models should remain in the 2000-3500 price range. This means that the 5G smartphone coverage population will gradually expand. Also, this fact will help 5G to spread faster.

After China issued a 5G license on June 6, the first wave of 5G smartphones arrived as scheduled. On July 23, ZTE’s Axon 10 Pro 5G version was officially launched. The price was 4,999 yuan ($715). Then, the new iQOO Pro 5G version was released by the Vivo sub-brand iQOO, which broke through the 4,000yuan ($572) price range. The product became the most affordable 5G smartphone at that time.

Since then, the lower limit of the price of 5G smartphones has repeatedly refreshed. Especially, Lenovo’s first 5G phone was the Z6 Pro 5G version, which was priced at only 3299 yuan ($472). The lowest price of 5G has only been maintained for one month. However, it was refreshed again by the Redmi K30 5G.

As reported by China Mobile, in the second quarter of 2020, there will be a 5G terminal with a price of 2,000 yuan ($286). At the end of 2020, the price of 5G smartphones will drop to 1,000-1500 yuan. 5G smartphones broke through the 2,000 yuan stall in 2019. That clearly exceeded industry expectations.
