Vivo’s 5G Smartphone Market Share Reached 54.3% In China

On December 9, Vivo held a media communication meeting in Dongguan. At the event, it revealed Vivo’s achievements and progress in 5G.

According to IDC’s China 5G smartphone market share report for the third quarter of 2019, Vivo China’s 5G smartphone market share reached 54.3%. Thus, the Chinese company took first place in the 5G industry.

As the company has officially disclosed, the number of 3GPP proposals exceeds 3,000. The 5G platform invention patent applications exceed 2,000. Vivo has launched the first batch of 5G smartphones in the industry. It includes the iQOO Pro 5G, the NEX 3 5G, etc. Among them, the iQOO Pro 5G has become the designated machine for the 5G application competition in the Bloom Cup.

Next, Vivo will launch the X30 series on the 16th of this month. It will come with SA and NSA dual-mode 5G support. This device is the first dual-mode 5G smartphone of Vivo.

Vivo’s vice president and Vivo’s China market president Liu Hong said that the fully embraces the 5G era․ However, Vivo is expected to become the first smartphone brand achieving full coverage of 5G smartphones from 1K-6K yuan and above.

Vivo founder and CEO Shen Wei said that the advent of the 5G era is a new opportunity for the smartphone market. The combination of 5G and artificial intelligence technology will allow smartphones to evolve to a new stage of smartphones. 5G smartphones will become an Intelligent perception center, control center, and service center.
