Former PayPal Chief Operating Officer Reddy Joins Google

In June this year, PayPal announce that its chief operating officer, Bill Ready, will leave the office at the end of the year. Now, Reddy whereabouts are already in place. He will join Google in January next year as the company’s commercial president. He will serve directly to Prabhakar Raghavan, senior vice president of advertising, commerce and payment.

Reddy’s new role at Google does not involve payments. It means he will not be directly involve in the Google Pay business, which is a competitor to PayPal. As Google’s new president of commerce, he will focus on the company’s vision, strategy, and delivery of business products. In this role, however, he will work closely with the advertising and payments business.

Sridhar Ramaswamy, the former head of Google’s advertising, commerce and payments division, has left in 201. He has been with the company for more than 15 years. Rajawan also join Google in 2018, and Reddy’s post of business president is a newly created position at Google business affairs.

Reddy join PayPal in 2013 when PayPal acquired his payment gateway startup Braintree for $ 800 million. Braintree now offers payment services to ride-hailing companies Uber, Airbnb, Facebook, and online shopping site Jet.com. He was subsequently promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2016. Responsible for PayPal’s product, technology, and engineering affairs, and also for the company’s end-to-end customer experience for consumers, merchants, and businesses such as Braintree. He is also co-chairman of the PayPal Operating Group, a group focuses on achieving PayPal’s revenue and profit goals.
