Smart Wearables and Earphones Market Grows Fast, But Smartphone Market Slows

IDC  research firm data show that in the third quarter of 2019, the global smart wearable device shipments are amounting to 84.5 million units. Smart wearable and earphones market Grows fast, but the smartphone market slows. The year-on-year growth is 94.6%. The largest increase has Huawei, Apple, and Samsung.

IDC estimates that Apple device shipments are 29.5 million units, higher than in 2018.  In the third quarter of 2019, it reaches 10 million units. Apple is still the world’s largest wearable device supplier. AirPods Pro launch and the Apple Watch 3 Watches of low sales let Apple keep the lead.

Apple’s earnings report did not disclose a wearable device sales. Therefore, it should be stressed that the IDC estimated a third party. But all indications show that Apple Watch and AirPods sales are very good. In the third quarter of 2019, the Apple “wearable devices, smart home, and other accessories” revenue record to reach $6.5 billion. Despite some challenges, because of the strong performance of Huawei’s shipments in China, it ranks fourth in the global market. In China, Huawei’s year-on-year growth is 188%. Besides, it becomes one of the market’s fastest-growing companies in China. Huawei has also maintained strong growth in all world. Fitbit is among the top five. It is the company’s latest wearable device, but shipments grew only 0.5%.  The future of this brand is full of uncertainty.
