A few major smartphone brands that traditionally design gaming handsets have already announced that they are going to release new-gen gaming smartphones. As you guess, they all will be powered by a full-blooded version of the current flagship mobile platform. And it was quite odd that Xiaomi or/and Tencent hadn’t talked about their own model. This morning, Tencent officially announced that the Black Shark 3S will be officially released on July 31.
Unfortunately, there is not much information concerning this handset. We only know that it will sport the latest Snapdragon 865 Plus chip. Also, one of the most popular Weibo bloggers announced that there will be no ‘big screen version’.
However, as the Black Shark 3S will not be a big iteration, there is every reason to think most of its features will be identical to the existing variant of the Black Shark 3/Pro. It was released in March this year. Under the hood, this handset carries the Snapdragon 865 processor + UFS3.0 flash storage + LPDDR5 memory combination. Also, it features a 7.1-inch 3120 x 1440 resolution 10bit 90Hz screen. The phone also has a liftable mechanical gaming button. Interestingly, the Black Shark 3 series also implements voice control, supporting popular game settings such as “Honor of Kings” and “Peace Elite” to set language instructions.
The Black Shark 3 Pro also supports 65W wired fast charge and 5000mAh capacity battery. It can fully charge the battery in 38 minutes. The time is the same as Black Shark 3 with 4720mAh capacity. The official explanation says that the data is not wrong here. Because the larger Black Shark 3 Pro can provide better heat dissipation, the charging speed is faster.
