According to the reports, a recent Motorola phone model “XT2041-1” has passed the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification, with a battery capacity of 5000mAh. Also, this is the First Motorola phone, that will come with Android Q. There is every reason to think we are dealing with the Moto G8.
Motorola has launched a ‘Power’ model of its Moto G-series phones for the past few years and is also reportedly gearing up to give the same treatment to the Moto G8 lineup as well.
Key Features of Moto G8
The document shows that the battery capacity of this phone is 5000mAh. Moreover, it uses 15W charging. At the same time, the Moto G8 supports dual-band 2.4G and 5G Wi-Fi. The length and width of the phone are 157.9mm and 75.8mm. From this, however, we can expect the device to come with a 6.2 or 6.3-inch display.
The Wi-Fi Alliance database indicates that the phone will run Android 10. Furthermore, XDA-Developers Editor-in-Chief, Mishaal Rahman, recently tweeted that a new phone codenamed “Sofia” is currently being tested by Motorola and that it might debut as the Moto G8 Power.
Rahman’s tweet adds that the phone is being tested with Android 10 and that it is based on the sm6125 platform. For clarity, SM6125 is the part number of Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 665 SoC that also powers the Moto G8 Plus. Moto G8 Plus, that was released earlier this year, had the same processor. But the battery capacity of this phone is only 4000mAh. Separately, another Motorola phone carrying the model number Moto XT2045-2 has been certified by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). But as of now, there is no word on its name or specifications.

If real, the Moto G8 Power would be the follow-up to this year’s Moto G7 power. For reference, the Moto G7 Power features a 6.2-inch HD+ display, the Snapdragon 632, 3GB of RAM. It also features 32 or 64GB of expandable storage. The phone gets its name from the huge 5,000mAh battery.
The price tag of the Moto G8 Power is expected to be released this month or next month.
