Samsung Galaxy Books Are World’s First QLED Laptops

Two new Samsung Galaxy Books slated for release in the US early next year could help the Korean tech giant get a new lease on the competitive ultraportable-laptop category. The new Galaxy Book Ion and Galaxy Book Flex bring familiar features from Samsung’s TV and phone lineups to the laptop for the first time. They include quantum dot LED (QLED) screens and wireless charging.

The pre-sale of Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book lon will officially start on December 20.

The Samsung Galaxy Books sport Samsung’s proprietary QLED display. Both can display full colors even in the sun. The outdoor mode provides a display capacity of up to 600 units.

The Galaxy Book Flex comes with an S Pen and new gesture controls. These allow users to perform a variety of creative tasks. The 360-degree hinge allows the Galaxy Book Flex to turn the device into a tablet when it needed.

The Galaxy Book Ion is made of ultra-light magnesium. Ion weighs less than a kilogram for greater portability. Both laptops feature long-lasting batteries and a power-efficient display.

Intel designed the Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion laptops. It became part of Project Athena’s innovation plan, which attracted attention.

According to the Intel plan, the Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion have passed rigorous testing. They have shown advanced computing experience and specifications. The latter allows the products to achieve outstanding responsiveness and longer battery life.

The Samsumg Galaxy Books are powered by 10th-generation Intel Core processors. These laptops also have industry-leading wireless and wired standards, Intel Wi-Fi 6 and Thunderbolt 3, for fast and easy connectivity.

The price of the Galaxy Book Flex ranges from 1.75 million won (1488$) to 2.92 million won (2483$).
