According to the announcement from Shanghai, Shanghai Railway Station will put on operation 4 sets of the CRH6F high-speed trains. Now they have only 8 sets with a capacity of 1470 passengers which have 4 toilets, an LCD TV, a luggage rack on the top of the passenger compartment, etc. Everyone expects that an additional 4 sets will greatly increase the capacity of passengers during the peak hours of the Shanghai traffic.

The CRH6F trains are coming to make traveling more comfortable, safe and reliable. Based on reports the CRH6F is a tailor-made one and gives some advantages for passengers: shortstops, quick start and stop, large passenger capacity (600 people more than the original CRH2 train), safety and comfort.
There are 5 main advantages that the CRH6F trains promise:
- Suitable speed. The designed top speed is 180 km/h, operating speed is 160 km/h which is proper to public requirements.
- Large passenger capacity. Having 4 sets of trains it will greatly enlarge passenger capacity and alleviate the shortage of passenger capacity.
- Fast ride. Each train sports 3 pairs of 1.3m wide doors. It makes it easier and faster to enter or leave the train when it is full. Also, the stop time is short (only 1 minute).
- Quick start and stop. Due to 4 moving and 4 drag groups, the start and stop of the CRH6F are stable and riding is more comfortable.
- Look. The front of the CRH6F looks like a dolphin, which is not only beautiful but also reduces aerodynamic resistance. Besides toilets, LCD TV, luggage rack, it has non-reversible seats that have a similar level of comfort and space to that of a suburban train.
According to reports, the first ride will take place on December 13.
