Recently, IDC released the global wearable market report for the first quarter of 2019. According to the report, the Xiaomi bracelet has topped the world’s wrist wearable device with 5.3 million shipped units, and Apple has the second largest shipment volume of 4.6 million units.

It is reported that in the first quarter, Xiaomi’s smart wearable shipments increased by 43.6%, while Apple’s growth rate was 14.8%. According to IDC statistics, in the first quarter, the shipment of Xiaomi bracelets reached 5 million units.
This is not the first time that the Chinese company outruns Apple in the wearable market. In the third quarter of 2018, Xiaomi was on the top and the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 played a major role. It is worth mentioning that IDC has previously published a 2019 Q1 global wearable device shipment report, showing that Apple ranks first, but that statistics include Apple Watch, Airpods, and certain models of Beats headphones. As for this report, IDC only considered Apple Watch. With Xiaomi getting ready to unveil the Mi Band 4, Apple may have a hard time holding to the top position.
Earlier, some sources revealed that Xiaomi is about to release the Xiaomi Mi Band 4. According to the leaked news, the Mi Band 4 is basically the same as the previous generation in terms of design, but the screen uses an OLED color display and the ‘small circle’ touch button at the bottom of the screen is no longer concave like the Mi Band 3.
In addition to the OLED color screen, the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 will also support the Bluetooth 5.0 standard, the battery capacity will be increased from 110mAh to 135mAh, and it will come with the built-in Xiao Ai intelligent voice assistant.
